sa totoo lang, i'm not familiar and i don't mind japanese artists back then... kuntento na ako sa panonood ng Rurouni Kenshin... and i admit, i like the anime themesongs especially 1/3 and 4th avenue cafe.

i even attended anime conventions before, (e.g. AXN, ano ung event sa glorietta before???, hahaha, i forgot), and there's one group na nag-perform. the vocalist says, "our next song is from rurouni kenshin", then he said "NIJI"

actually, i was shocked. because i didn't know anything about niji... hahaha, gusto kong magwala kasi, "niloloko mo ba ako?!!! - wala namang niji sa RK ha!!!"

then he sang... kinilabutan ako.... i don't know.

after that, i went home. research mode... and alas! meron ngang NIJI! hahaha, it's probably because, ndi pa ako nabibigyan ng copy ng friend ko about RK movie... i downloaded the song - then played!

"waaaaaaah! bakit ganon? kaboses niya ung kanina??? eh???" "sino ba un?"

after that, punta ulit ako sa mga conventions... then i heard the name of the band... it was 7Thursday.

i invited them over sa event na in-organize ko way back in my post-graduate days called "ANIME@PUP" - then pumayag silang mag-perform.

sabi nung isa, marami daw silang tutugtugin - songs from L'Arc~en~Ciel... oro?
ano daw??? hahaha, ndi ko alam pinagsasabi niya kaya oo lang ako ng oo.

then, un nga, tumugtog sila ng maraming larc non. akala pala kasi nila, kilala ko na ang L'Arc pero ndi.

iyong dala nilang hatak non sa ANIME@PUP, eventually naging close friends ko din, sila ang nagbigay sa akin ng copies ng L'Arc, first vcd ko was HEAVENLY FILMS. free lang un...

eventually, nakilala ko na rin ang L'Arc~en~Ciel because of them. mula non, i've become a fan of both L'Arc~en~Ciel and 7Thursday. ^____^

^wahaha, in all honesty, kinikilabutan ako habang binabasa ko tong post mo coz I absoultely feel your passion and, WTF, I'm also a fan of 7Thursday! n_n

Kyaaa...How should I start.

Etooo.... Hmm...

I liked watching anime and listening to Jap songs but back then we did not have access to the wonderful world of internet so we practically owe everything to this friend (J) who'd always burn us CD'S with lots and lots of j-music (mainstream anime opening and ending themes XD). One time he burned us a cd with songs that are not familiar to us, as in never heard, and we were fixated with track 15, oooh. haha. it was FLOWER. XD

It all begun with that single track and everything was history. Haha. I'd like to specify how the fandom developed up to the time now when we practically worship LARC and call them GODLY but i may never be able to finish.

But we first encountered Hyde before L'arc. We saw his PV of Hello and went gaga over him, immediately calling our friend and asking him if he knows the guy.

me: "HYDE NGA! HYDE!"

J: "Vocalist yan ng L'Arc~en~Ciel"

me: "Hindi nga sya banda, HYDE lang, HYDE! Anung L'Arc sinasabi mo? Mag-isa lang sya!"

J: OO NGA! VOCALIST NGA SYA NG LARC!

There's something about Laruku's music that makes them different from all the other j-artists. For one thing, theirs was the first ever song that made me cry, majority of my literary creativity were spawned from the inspiration that came from their songs, they uplift my soul when I'm sad, they make me believe in myself and the things that I can overcome, they make me sad and make me realize how precious the life I have now and how much of a miracle it is to be alive.

When I listen to SHINE, I smile despit myself and suddenly, everything is okay.

Man. This is getting is cheesy but these things, all of these things are the reason why I can say that Laruku is definitely a constant in my life and the answer to WHY L'Arc~en~Ciel.

It's not just because their music is great. They're different from everyone else because they alone  can stir up all these emotions inside me.

Sigh.

I came across 7 Thursday at a LarcCon and I practically sat ON the stage, singing along with the band and losing myself. Man, they were awesome. Sumabog ako nung malaman kong professor sa school ko yung vocalist! WAT THE CRAP! SO THAT's WHY HE LOOKS SO FAMILIAR!!!! Haha. SIR BILLY! T-T

inintroduce sa akin ng friend ko ang L'Arc.... nung umpisa di ko sila ganun kagusto kc pabading or kumekembot si hyde... .pero habang tumatagal... nagiging adik na ako... lahat ng songs nila pinapakinggan ko na.. inaabangan mga bagong songs.. kahit yung mga solo works nila...

i like every one of them... i like hyde's voice, ken's guitar playing, im addicted on tetsu's bass playing, dahil sa kanya nahilig ako sa bass at grove ni yukihiro sa drums... i like thier songs so much... sila ang tangng banda na nakaadikan ko... ung mga songs nila... masterpiece! i love L'Arc~en~Ciel so much...

unang beses ko narinig ang l'arc dahil nga sa RK ung 4th ave cafe...then few years later around 2003 ung kaibigan ko eh pinapanood sa akin ung video ng driver's high ng l'arc nung panahong un wala pa akong idea sa mga itsura ng members nang una kong akita si hyde ang unang nsabi ko "bakit kamukha ni spencer reyes ung vox, nsayaw din ba yan??" ayan ang reaksyon ko tpos may nagpahiram sa akin ng mga vid compilation nila ayun napagtripan ko ung vid ng honey ( hndi dhil sa model ha!!) ksi trip na trip ko ung pormang rockstar nila since na alternative rock ang tugtugan ko then simula nun nag research na ako sa band na ito..

at nakapanood ako ng lumang vids nila at kahit nalaman kong crossdreeser sila before eh hndi ako na turn off dahil magkasing seksi lang kmi kung gumalaw hahahaha...

then until now nakikinig pa din ako sa mga laruku songs at nageenjoy pa rin ako!!!

I started downloading jmusic para sa bestfriend ko. Fave nya kasi RK, di pa ako masyadong marunong mag internet nun.. (i was in college back then).. tapos sabi ko anu ba tong band na to (talking about 4th ave) di ko maintindihan panu ung sulat... mali ata type ko...

then here came ANIME ANIME radio program.. lagi kami nakikinig ng bestfriend ko.. she even won a DVD (ata) galing pa kay kuya Azrael.. tapos sabi L'arc en ciel nga daw... sabi ng friend ko, anu un? sabi ko lang.. danda ng voice nung vocalist..nagkaroon pa ng L'arc special ung program na puro L'arc songs.. sabi ko ayos ah...

bigla nag karoon ng mini event.. sinama ko si friend at ang little sis ko.. (PAN cosplay, hehehe.. kami un!) aba may katabi ako.. mga freak.. tumitili kasi may pinapalabas na video (love flies).. me dala sila pics.. sabi ko adik ata sila... then first time ko nakita 7thursday.. dun pa nga sa garahe tumutog.. ayos, lufet! (kaya i remember them)

ayun.. ang haba pero di pa tpos.. I started downloading jmusic na kasi grumaduate na ako at nakabili ako ng mp3 (me work na ako sa wakas).. at unti unti na lang nahulog ang aking kaisipan sa mga songs at vids nila..

my my gulay! sa terminal ko me wallpaper sila... dami ko pics.. at anu ang mad malala..

I got pregnant in 2007, sabi ko sa father ng son ko, "Hyde ang name nya, babae man or lalake".. badtrip pa nga siya kasi ung room ko puro na nga pics ng Hyde (in Dubai) pati ba naman anak namin Hyde pa rin..

at un ang storya... L'arc freak... stress ang buhay ko pero sumasaya ako everytime nakikinig ako sa kanila..

okay, back to topic... The first time I heard L'Arc~en~Ciel was in the ending song of Rurouni Kenshin 4th Avenue Cafe (During back then I was already downloading mp3s on my floppy disk at nagtiyatyagang magdownload sa dial-up na internet, lol)...
Nabigla na lang ako kasi bakit ang ganda nung kanta tapos ibinalik sa Heart of Sword. Hindi ko pa alam nun yung issue na nangyari kay Sakura.

Tapos nagstart na akong magchat sa #weareanime ng mIRC nun kasi anime wallpaper junkie ako nun, tapos nakakachat namin ni kuya si Marron. Nayaya kaming makipag-meetup one time. Nung pumunta kami marami siyang sinasuggest na bands, mapa-j-pop or j-rock... Pero syempre pinahahalagahan niya yung collections niya ng L'Arc~en~Ciel mp3s at videos (Nung time na ito uso na yata ang cable internet hehehe). Pag nakakakuha sya ng discography ng L'Arc lagi nyang shinishare sa amin.

Yung first PV na napanood ko ay "Flower". Tulad ng reaction ni hyde_en_ciel29, medyo nakakailang tingnan yung kumekembot si hyde sa videos nya, hahaha

At least matitino naman yung iba kong napanood na PV (pero iniiwasan ko pa rin yung PV ng Blurry Eyes) pero na-hook na ako sa music nila. Yung era nila ng Vivid Colors, Dive 2 Blue ang nagustuhan ko sa kanila. Nag-iba kasi ng konti yung style nila nung napalitan sila ng drummer pero maganda pa rin naman. Yung Ready Steady Go saka Link yung nagustuhan kong tracks nila na medyo bago-bago.

first encounter ko sa music nila was when i received a cd na may miscellaneous anime mp3s around year 2000
ranging from dragon ball to recca to yuyu to the not so familiar titles at that time like ghost in the shell cowboy bebop and guess what DNA2

yup my first larc song  was Blurry eyes

yung iba kasi walang pangalan ng artist yung song .. etong blurry eyes meron so nag stick sa mind ko yun
then not long after pinalabas na sa tv ang Samurai X and there was 4th avenue cafe .. tapos NijI sa movie

back then wala pakong alam sa music as a musician
pero nagsstand out talga yung bass lines nung mga kanta na yun eh
isa sa mga factors kung bakit ko nagustuhan ang larc

after ten years !!! literally who wouldve known that well be covering some of their songs

(kahit kasi wala pakong alam sa pagtugtog non nahumaling na ko sa mga basslines ng mga kanta
eg: op ng mojacko hahaha )
